FILM ACTING WORKSHOP: SCIENCE FICTION & FANTASY - by Javier Alcina

The course allows students to explore the genres of science-fiction & fantasy while using the Barr and Kahn techniques, a highly effective acting system.

Each student will shoot 2 different scenes in the science-fiction and fantasy genres. We will explore how to approach specific audiovisual genres and their specific challenges, while also practicing your acting skills in English to unlock new international opportunities.

Additionally, you will learn how to use the Barr & Kahn system to analyze and bring a scene to life in record time, allowing you to meet the requirements of a fast pace industry.Through this technique you will also work on thoughts to bring specificity and nuance to your performance. It will awaken your imagination so you know exactly "what to do". This will help you surrender to the experience, leaving "how it happens"open to the present moment.

• Shoot 2 scenes: one Science-Fiction and one Fantasy.
• Discover a system based on techniques such as Barr, Kahn, Meisner, Adler, Stanislavski, Rodenburg, Vasiliev, Skoric, etc.
• Simplify the acting process avoiding unnecessary complications.
• Learn to apply specific thoughts to each line.
